Today is a VERY SPECIAL day in our lives...! 10 very long years ago we walked through customs at O'Hare airport with our two beautiful children. Yes, we arrived home that day in complete tears after a long and difficult journey to adopt our kiddos. They are biological siblings from Chisinau, Moldova. When we were going through the process, it was one heartache after another. Every day felt like a year. And now........ every year feels like a day! It's amazing how fast time passes once you have kids! We are a family........... a forever family and we give God the glory every single day!
Well, here's the photo for everyone who knows us and those who may be reading this for the first time, the one we take every year on the same day, February 13th. It began with the first photo taken in 2002 at Casa de Copii, the orphanage they lived in for three and a half years. Every year on that same day, Bob takes the same photo of them with Papusheka (Alli's little doll). It was the first gift we ever gave her. Adoption has been the biggest blessing in our lives. It's changed everything about us. Our kids have given us far more than we could ever provide for them. They are our children, maybe not through blood, but through the grace of God. They were born in our hearts. We love you Bobby and Alli always and forever, amen! If you're thinking about adopting, please know that you can ask us anything! And if you would like to view our adoption video on our website, here's the link... https://bobanddawndavis.com/about-us/#adoption-video No laughing at my clothes or my dancing! And bring tissues... don't say I didn't warn you! |

Is anyone as confused as I am that Christmas is just 2 days away? How did that happen? CRAZY I tell ya, it was just yesterday we were ringing in the new year! Wasn't it? Well, we are settling into the realization that Santa will be visiting the Davis family again very soon! It's a good thing we've all been on our very best behavior all year long.... yep, that's right, all year long. Shhhhh, that's what we told Santa!
We are so happy to have my mom and dad visiting from Florida. They are missed so much throughout the year. My mom comes in a couple of times a year to take care of our kids while Bob and I travel for our business, which we are so grateful to have her help. We don't get to spend a lot of time together when she comes in because she needs to get home to my Dad. So, it's always incredibly special to have them with us at the holidays. My brother, Scotty, will be in town from Ohio and he is always a joy to have around. Our kids love him so much because he's like a big kid himself. My step-mom will be visiting from Arizona too, so it's going to be really fun to see her. And of course, we'll be visiting Bob's side of the family as well, who are also very special to us. Blessed we are......... indeed! For breakfast this year we're going to have some yummy Williams-Sonoma chocolate croissants that were sent to us from the beautiful Benton family! Thank you Roxie, Curt, Bevan and April...!!! We love you all so much. And a big thank you goes to Jen Hester and Kenny Kim for taking really wonderful family photos for us! xoxoxo!!! I can't wait to spend the holiday with our family! I wish that we spent more quality time with our extended family during the year but I will take what I can get. Bob and I get so busy and I reluctantly admit that we don't take the time to stop and relax with friends and family as much as we'd like. It's one thing that I want to really work on in the new year. This year we sent out 300 cards and it was really hard to narrow it down. We have an extraordinary amount of people that we really wanted to say thank you to and wish them a happy holiday. Every year our business continues to grow and we are grateful to God for blessing our lives with amazing clients, vendors, and friends (personally and throughout the photography industry). We wish each and everyone of you peace in your heart as you spend the holiday with your loved ones. We pray for the families who are struggling in any way or without their their loved ones this holiday. May your heart be lifted in praise this Christmas for the wonderful gift of Jesus and the joy He brings to our lives. Have a wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year. May 2012 bring us all much happiness, good health, and prosperity! Much love... ~ Bob, Dawn, Bobby and Alli, The Davis Family! |

This is it........ the REAL WEDDING WORKSHOP of the year, where Tiffany + Miles said "I Do" in front of 100+ friends and family at the most beautiful southern chic venue, Cedarwood Weddings in Nashville, Tennessee. I think this is the largest amount of images from any one event that I've ever posted. I hard the hardest time narrowing down the images. You can see even more on our Facebook page, right HERE.
I don't even know where to begin. This was such an incredible wedding + workshop experience. Tiffany's mom, Arline, is a photographer that attended our Vegas Love Story workshop in 2008, and assisted us with our 2nd wedding + workshop of Sarah + Brent in St. Simons Island in 2009. Arline is now a dear friend of ours and well, it's was her daughter's turn to get married. Tiffany + Miles wanted to share their wedding day and make it a dream wedding for photographers to walk away with a beautiful portfolio southern wedding. So, with that being said, we had 18 photographers sign up to shoot this wedding with Bob and learn from him. With the amazing help from, Angie Garbot, plus Arline's crew of 3 photographers, I would bet I could safely say this was the most photographed wedding in history totaling 24 photographers. You ask "how in the world does 24 photographers not get in each others way?" and "who on earth would want 18 photographers be educated on their wedding day?" well, all I can say is that we were blessed with 18 of thee most amazing attendees/photographers to shoot with and well.... only a couple who comes from a family of photographers, Ace Photography, would be this crazy!!! We all had the BEST time ever at Tiffany + Miles wedding and the images below will show you how incredible a dream southern chic wedding can be! Thank you, THANK YOU, thank you Arline, Tiffany + Miles for letting us be part of your incredible wedding day. Tiffany, you looked stunning in your Karen Hendrix Couture gown. If you're a bride reading this, you must check out Karen's work. She is an extraordinarily talented, creative, designer who is a beautiful, sweet woman and so gracious about her success. Also, a huge thank you to Karen and Linda, the owners of Historic Cedarwood Weddings who made us feel so welcomed. Their southern hospitality goes beyond any simple expectation. Their exceptional team graciously worked around all the madness and all our photographers beautifully. I dream about the day we can photograph another wedding there! Tiffany + Miles, from the bottom of our heart......... THANK YOU! You two are so meant to be together. You are crazy in love and it's so fun to see!!! Much love and blessings for a long, happy, healthy life together!!! xoxoxo, ~ Dawn & Bob Ps: This is just the wedding day blog post. I still need to go through all the images from our day before and after the wedding... OMG! |

The cutest, most sweetest couple ever...... Whitney and John. Their engagement session began at the Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago and ended with a walk in Grant Park with their dog, Molly. The last photo of Molly looking right into the camera gets me every time. I want to just squeeze her to pieces! She knows she's cute!!! Whitney and John are very much in love and it shows in their photos. I'm so excited that we will be part of their wedding day! It's going to be over the top amazing, I just know it!!!

I don't even know how to put into words how excited we are to have Tanya and Pete's wedding featured in the Fall 2011 Issue of Inside Weddings magazine. It's one of the best wedding magazines in the world to draw inspiration from as a bride. We can't thank enough, the beautiful Marilyn Oliveira, and Art Scangas for this incredible honor. Truly... Bob and I are so excited...!!!
And a big thank you, again, to Christine Bentley who 2nd shot this wedding with Bob. She's our details diva! xoxoxo! |

So excited to have Laura & Joe's wedding featured in Weddings by The Ritz-Carlton magazine July-December 2011 issue. Their wedding, designed by Lisa Vorce of Oh How Charming, was incredibly beautiful on the coast of Dana Point at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel. Laura and Joe are both foodies and they wanted a dreamy beach wedding. Everything was perfect, right down to the sand dollars that wrapped the dinner menus, to the almond wedding cake with Bavarian chocolate and hazelnut crunch, sprinkled with brown sugar to resemble the beautiful sandy beaches. Simply magnificiet and we wouldn't expect anything less from Laura and Joe.
A big thank you to our dear friends, Christine Bentley and Heidi Morgan for second shooting this wedding with Bob. We love and adore you both. You all rocked this wedding!!! It couldn't have been more perfect! |

Bob Davis and I are very excited to announce that we'll be speaking at the 2nd Annual Convention International Del Foro De Fotógrafos in Madrid, Spain. We are very honored and can't wait to meet everyone. All Spanish speaking attendees will be wearing headsets for translation. We couldn't be more honored to be presenting with some incredible speakers such as Yervant Zanazanian, Jim Garner, Kimberlee & Marissa from The Boudoir Divas, Sergio Photography, David Beckstead, Rogelio Romero Serrano, Clemente Jiménez Fotografos, Vinicius Matos, & Francisco Guerrero. A HUGE thank you to Rodolfo Apria for the invitation. And we're also happy to see that our fine art book company, GraphiStudio, is one of the sponsors! We are very honored and can't wait to meet everyone!
