Another successful DAVIS LOVE STORY WORKSHOP that happened in Hinsdale, IL March 23-24, 2011. We rented a beautiful historic studio which once was an old movie theater to host our workshop at. It was crazy cool and I think all of us agreed it would make the most amazing photography studio. In fact, I think there were about 5 of us that said we'd go in on it together! I love to dream!!!

We had the most amazing group of photographers with us again! Joel Alonzo, Tricia Hanson and Hannah Anderson, Chris Blake, Gaynor Eisenberg, Jenny Kenney, Vito Radchenko, Josh Resar. We always say that God knows exactly the right amount of people to bless us with and he brought us some pretty incredible people to spend 2 wonderful days with.

A huge thank to our Operations Manager, Michele Gonzalez. I don't thank her enough. If it weren't for her, I'd be seriously lost. She is so instrumental in our business and she helps us prepare for our workshops. She does so much for us, I just can't thank her enough. We love you Michele!!! She spends hours behind the scenes making it all come together beautifully. She organized the meals which were sponsored by our amazing vendors, Pictage, Photographer's Edit, Pixel2Canvas. Thank you to our vendors who shouted out about our workshop and supplied us with goodies to give away, FJ Wesctott, Camera Bits, Radiopoppers, and Showit. We could not surrounded by more amazing vendors who are vital to our success. Make sure to check them out! And lastly, a big thank you to Angie Garbot and Jenn Gaudreau for all your help during the workshop. You are both incredible people, talented photographers, and dear friends!!!

When they approached us over a year ago about creating a customized collection, we were beyond excited. We are really excited to announce that in October 2011 we will be photographing an incredible wedding for a family of photographers and they want the wedding to be a workshop for other photographers to learn how Bob shoots a wedding. Our next workshop will be here before you know it. I'm getting more and more excited. Michele, our Operations Manager, has been helping me with all the little details we're going to be surprising everyone with. It's going to be an amazing workshop and we can't wait to meet everyone! Today, Bob did a test shoot at The Narnia Estate, where our workshop will be at October 19 & 20, 2010. Here's a couple of photos of just one of our gorgeous models, Kelly Conrad. She is s.t.u.n.n.i.n.g...!!! The grounds at Narnia are so enchanting. Ohhhh, it's going to be so much fun. We have a lot of wonderful things planned. Shhhhh, many are surprises! Gorgeous models, a white horse and a vintage car to start! Thank you Ed Weiland for all the help with finding models and the location for this workshop!

This was an incredible day! The day after Sarah + Brent's wedding at the beautiful Ocean Lodge resort in St. Simons Island, Georgia, we took all 15+ photographers from our Real Wedding Workshop to Jeckyll Island (Georgia) where Brent proposed to Sarah and had an INCREDIBLE photo session there…........ SO FUN!

Switzerland photographers................ whew! A tough crowd, but one I feel in love with. Bob and I taught a 2 day workshop in Zurich, Switzerland in March to an amazing group of photographers. I think we had about 38 attendees. Things are very different in Switzerland than they are here in the States. Things like First Looks, Engagement Sessions, and Mess The Dress sessions aren't really considered there. Networking isn't really big there either. As we all know here, networking with other photographers is huge! Our friend, Daniel Zihlmann is a photographer in Switzerland and he's breaking all the rules. He's created a group called The Wedding Crashers and once a month they all get together to network. They encourage each other and they are bringing a different spin to wedding photography. It's pretty amazing. It reminds me of what's been happening in the States since things like David Jay's forum Open Source Photo began. I love it! And I think the photographers from Switzerland are all going to make some huge changes there over the next year! It's pretty exciting!

A big thank you to Paul Merki from Light+Byte. He brought us over to teach this workshop and we are so humbled by that. I was really awesome meeting you Paul. Thank you for making this workshop possible!

UPDATE 04/08/10: We're getting more and more excited about the release of Bob's new book: LIGHTS, CAMERA, CAPTURE. I think the official release date is April 20, 2010 but it's changed a couple of times. I know it's very soon!!!!

When Barry Pruett from Wiley Publishing approached Bob about writing a book, I have to be honest... he was a little nervous. He's never written a book before and he wasn't sure if he could. Well, with much trepidation he accepted the challenge. While writing the book, there were many moments where he was feeling pretty weak and he was beginning to doubt himself. But I knew that God had much bigger plans for him than he could see for himself.

I am so proud of him as he's in the final stages of preparing for the release of his 1st book. It's pretty exciting as I know he poured his heart and soul into this book. He's received some great feedback on the sample chapter we have shared with our friends.
