People Magazine | Ashley Hebert & JP Rosenbaum Wedding

Event Planner: Mindy Weiss
Invitations: Lehr & Black
Venue: The Langham Huntington
Flowers: Mark's Gardens
Cake: Cake Divas
Gown: Randi Rahm
Jewelry: Neil Lane
So incredibly excited for so many reasons. I am an avid fan of the TV show The Bachelor + The Bachelorette. It's like, total shut down mode, turn off the lights, red wine in hand, drag my husband with me to watch this show! I mean... doesn't everyone do this? When we got the call from our dear friend, Mindy Weiss, Event Planner extraordinaire, to photograph one of my favorite Bachelorettes of all time, Ashley Hebert's wedding to fiancé, JP Rosenbaum, I was like a school girl all over again! I wanted to shout at the top of my lungs but of course had to keep it all top secret until the wedding was published.

For now, all I can say is WOW, WOW, WOW, how gracious the beautiful Ashely & JP are with each other and everyone they meet. And their families are so sweet. JP's mom.... ohhhh, I just wanted to squeeze her every time I'd see her. And Ashley's sister, five months pregnant and cute as can be. Their little, Boo, was the best behaved puppy ever! She is just adorable. Every single ounce of this wedding was designed with love. From the incredibly beautiful invitations, the 3 gorgeous wedding cakes, flowers galore, Mindy & her team didn't miss a beat. Ashley & JP said "I do" at beautiful Langham Huntington in Pasadena, California. Their wedding was absolutely dreamy. I can't wait to share way more photos that were taken, but will do that when the time is right.

Ashley and JP thank you so much for all your kind words throughout your wedding.... it was incredibly awesome to hear you ohhhing and ahhhhing over your photos the morning after. We loved that and can't thank you enough for trusting us to capture one of the most important days in your lives. Bob and I wish you so much happiness, I agree with Chris Harrison, you were meant to be!!!

A huge shout out to our 2nd shooter, Christine Bentley who rocked this wedding with Bob. It was no easy task sharing the floor with TV crews and such and she did a fantastic job making sure to capture the moments. Thank you girlie, we love you more than you know!

I soooo can't wait to share more photos but for now, Bob and I are so please to share their feature in People magazine. Oh and check out Ashley & JP's website... it's adorable!

We are thankful for the blessing God has graced us with and will always give Him the glory!

Much love!!!

Whitney & John | Wedding | Trump International Chicago

Event Planner: Hope Weis
Venue: Trump International Hotel and Tower
Cake: Sarah's Pastries & Candies
Event Designer: Kehoe Designs
Entertainment: Cagen Music, Orchestra Chicago
Lighting: Frost Lighting
Dresser: Caroline Shaw
Engagement Ring: Tiffany & Co.
Wedding Bands: New York Jewelers
Wedding Gown: Vera Wang
They met on their fist day of law school orientation and the rest was history! During a trip to Hope Town Harbour in the Abaco Islands, John had a plan and Whitney had no idea. After spending the day at the beach, they headed back to their cottage to get ready for dinner. John poured champagne, lit a candle, and opened the doors of the cottage to have the view of the ocean. And she thought he was just being sweet. They toasted and then he said, "Do you really want to know what we're celebrating? We're celebrating spending the rest of our lives together." as he pulled out the little blue box, got down on one knee, and said, "Will you marry me?" She was very surprised and of course answered with a yes! What a wonderful, romantic surprise!

We are so thankful to Hope Weis, Event Planner, for introducing us to Whitney and John and their families. We met Whitney first at her apartment and then I met with her mom later. They were just the nicest women and I'm always so honored when we book a wedding with wonderful people. We photographed their engagement session right away with their cute dog, Mollie, who stole the show! It's hard to believe their wedding has come and gone... and all that is left is the wedding photos we had the honor of capturing.

We are blessed to have the most wonderful 2nd shooters such as, Jenn Guadrau, who shot this wedding with Bob. Thank you lovely Jenn!!!

Here's some images from Whitney & John's wedding... we hope you enjoy!

Much love!

Danielle & Jeremy | Wedding | Four Seasons Hotel Chicago

Event Planner: Jim Dillbeck, Heffernan Morgan
Venue: Four Seasons Chicago
Entertainment: Ken Arlen Orchestra
Florist, Lighting, Designing: Heffernan Morgan Ronsley
Wedding Cake: Bittersweet
Sweet Table: Jan Ehrenberg, Parties, Events & More
Programs + Table Cards: Amongst Lovely Things
Hair: Salon Buzz
Makeup: Lexi Christensen
Cake Forks: Jessica N Designs
Jeremy had a plan when he left work early and headed home. Danielle had no idea what was in store that evening. When she opened the door to their apartment to find rose petals covering the floor and when she was greeted by their puppy wearing a shirt that said "Mommy, will you marry Daddy?" and Jeremy around the corner waiting to pop the question, she was so shocked and not to mention, happy, she started laughing and crying at the same time. Needless to say, her answer was YES!

We can't thank Jim Dillbeck, from Heffernan Morgan Ronsley, enough for introducing us to this incredible family. I'm in awe everyday when God brings gracious and appreciative people into our lives. I clicked with Andie, Danielle's mom, the moment I met her in Jim's office. She's the glue that holds her family together and I can totally relate to that. She loves her husband, her kids and her dog, and I knew that she was my kind of girl. She stresses over the details, and she'd give you the shirt off her back. She's incredible and I adore her. When the bride's mom texts you photos of the bride in her dress from the Vera Wang store in New York, you know she is the BEST. I love our brides, but I truly love their moms. One day, far from now and God willing, I will be in their shoes helping to plan my daughter's wedding and I'm sure I will stress over the details too.

Thank you to our fabulous friend, Jenn Guadrau for second shooting with Bob at D+J's wedding. You are incredibly talented and we are always honored to have your assistance!

We hope you enjoy the images from this gorgeous wedding!

Much love!

I love the way she looks at Danielle...

This is Andie..... one of the coolest Mother of the Brides you'll ever meet!

What girl doesn't love a Vera Wang gown and rings from Tiffany & Co.?

And what guy doesn't love a gorgeous tux from Ralph Lauren and shoes from Hugo Boss.

How blessed is Gabe, Danielle's dad? Surrounded by beautiful women... and cutie pie girls!

Danielle looked stunning in her VW gown and her vintage jewelry. And I loved that she kept her hair down and wavy.

Her veil was also a Vera Wang and it was one of the prettiest veils I've ever seen!

Heffernan Morgan Ronsley did an incredible job on the flowers.... and the entire wedding! Danielle's vintage cascade bouquet consisted of quicksand roses, vendela roses, white majolica roses, stephanotis and heavy mini white calla lilies with broaches and rhinestone accents. It was stunning!

These lovely programs were created by Amongst Lovely Things on Etsy (all links are above). They wer made of vintage style antiqued cream colored parchment, hand stamped in distressed grey ink with baroque flourishes and embellished with white pearl dots. Made as french doors tied together with an ivory ribbon. Inside is the prelude and thank yous. Just stunning!

The Four Seasons Chicago is such an incredible venue!

Their chuppah was adorned with white gladiola blossoms and crystal suspended around a gold and crystal chandelier. All the out of town guests received eco friendly canvas gift bags with vintage styled writing and chicago skyline.

I love everything about this photo of Danielle getting ready to walk out the door to see Jeremy for their "first look".

21 in the bridal party not including D+J...!

A Jewish ceremony of signing of the ketubah before the parents escort both the bride and groom down the aisle.

After seeing this exchange of rings so many times, I researched why the ring is initially put on the index finger and I learned that the Jewish wedding tradition goes back to the time of the Talmud and the differences in beliefs at that time about which finger is closer or more direct to the heart. Christianity taught the ring finger; Judaism taught the index finger. I hope I have stated that correctly.

There were three different table designs. The flowers in at each table were a mixture of white hydrangeas, polar star roses, and football mums.

- Flower centerpieces designed in mirror boxes with optic crystal lamps surrounded by eight diamond crystal voltage candles.

- Flower centerpieces surrounded by Heffernan Morgan crystal candelabras set on a mirror box with province vases and tea lights set in diamond voltages.

- Flower centerpieces designed on a ribbon vases, silver candlesticks with large numbed votive rolypoly and Bobeche hanging crystals and tea lights in diamond votives and a lighted mirror box.

And one of Chicago's finest, Ken Arlen Orchestra including the Sirens, entertained everyone all night long. When they are playing, the dance floor is always full with everyone dancing the night away!

And we are so excited to be part of Danielle's sister, Ashley's wedding to Ari's next year!

Bittersweet Bakery in Chicago designed this incredible 3 tiered cake with cabbage roses and pale ivory ribbon displayed on this sweet vintage silver tray.

I found these vintage forks on Etsy made by Jessica N Designs. I love her work!

The sweet table was coordinated by Jan Ehrenberg of Parties, Events & More and what a crazy, fantastic job she did! She always sends a treat bag of goodies home with us. I love that!

Every guest left the wedding with a bottle of wine in a burlap bag and chocolate goodies both garnishing D&J's initials. The notes on the burlap bags were also made by Amongst Lovely Things on Etsy.

Inside Weddings Magazine Fall 2012 | Melina & Patrick

Event Planner: Mindy Weiss
Venue: Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay
Gown: Monique Lhuillier
Tux: Brioni
Cake: Sweet On Cake
Florist: Mark's Garden
Entertainment: West Coast Music
Linens: Revelry Event Designers
Invitation & Calligraphy: Lehr & Black
Videography: Vidicam Productions
Their wedding was simply beautiful with incredible details, gorgeous bridal gown, shoes, cakes, flowers, ooohhhh the list goes on, but that's only the small part of what made their wedding spectacular. Their love for each other is pure right down to the last two paragraphs in this article. Since it's hard to read the text in the article, I'll recite it here because it's utterly noteworthy!

While there isn't one thing the couple would change about their magical day, they were amazed at how quickly it passed. "I look at the pictures and I want so badly to step back in time and relive each moment," says Patrick. And the bride who has dreamt of her wedding for so long? Her favorite memory has nothing to do with the details.

"Right after the ceremony, Patrick and I were whisked away to a more secluded part of the property - just close enough to the ocean to hear the waves crashing - where we had a few minutes to be with each other and take in the moment" Melina recalls. "We didn't realize how profound that time would be for us after everything was said and done, but having those moments alone together to share our feelings was priceless."

Bob and I did this on our wedding day. We stepped outside onto the veranda and just looked into our reception and really took in all the love that was in the room for us that evening. We held each other and cherished that moment. It's something we still talk about to this day.

I always share with our clients that if they can find the time to do this, they will not be sorry. And as Melina beautiful said, her favorite memory had nothing to do with the details, but everything to do with that moment they took for themselves on their wedding day.

Words cannot describe how excited we are for Melina and Patrick to have their wedding featured in the Fall 2012 edition of Inside Weddings magazine. Thank you Melina and Patrick for being so amazing, and for always praising our work. You make our job so easy! We love you both and wish you a lifetime of happiness! A humble, but huge thank you to Mindy Weiss for referring us. We love you dearly!!!

And last but not least, thank you to our dear friends, Ray Santana from Miami and Christine Bentley from Orange County, for second shooting this wedding with Bob. We love you both so much!

Alenka & Joseph | A Slovenian Love Story

It's hard to believe we spent 3 weeks in Europe over the summer, more on which I'll blog about later. For now, I want to share this very special wedding of our very dear friends, Alenka + Joseph. Bob met Joseph while he was employed at Apple working in the Aperture division. He's now owns his own business, Aperture Expert, and is exactly that... an expert! Alenka is an amazing graphic designer. Together, they are a perfect match.

The first time Joseph introduced us to his new girlfriend, I knew they were going to get married. I have this special power! Wink, wink ; ) What I didn't know is that they would marry in Alenka's home town in Slovenia and Bob and I and our kids would be there to photograph their wedding!!! And what a wedding this was... filled with all kinds of fun Slovenia traditions. She grew up in the most beautiful home on an apple orchard/vineyard in a small town called Svečina. Her cousins, the Jarc Family, also had a beautiful vineyard which is where we were blessed to stay. They took the most amazing care of us. Thank you, thank you!!!

Wedding day arrives, we began at Alenka's home where her friends and family were cooking in the kitchen making a nice spread of food as we all waited for Joseph and his entourage to arrive. What Joseph didn't know was there was going to be a few extra people greeting him at the door when he knocked. To his surprise was Alenka's cousin, dressed as a pregnant woman... it was hilarious watching the girls dress him up for this! Next was her cousin wearing the wedding gown Alenka's mom wore on her wedding day. And finally, Alenka....... oh the look on Joseph's face was priceless.

After being solicited by a pregnant women and a bride with a baby, Joseph was pretty sure he was good to go once he had, Alenka wrapped in his arms. Ohhh, but on the way to the church, they were stopped by the guys in the village who challenged him for the right to marry Alenka. A Slovenian tradition called šranga. He and his best man, Frank Casanova, had to perform all kinds of tasks in order to "buy" his bride. Too fun! Well, they negotiated her down to a fair price and off they went to the church.

Alenka + Joseph had the most beautiful ceremony at the church she grew up attending. The service ended with all of us toasting wine from the Vdovic vineyard. I have to say, that was such a wonderful tradition I wish we could bring to the states. After the ceremony and the rice toss, they were greeted by the folk dancing group that Alenka grew up dancing with. It was so cool to watch them all dance. I think I pinched myself 100 times to make sure I wasn't dreaming. This was good stuff and nothing like our weddings back home.

On our way to the venue, we stopped to take some photos at an overlook where you can see the beautiful village of Svečina in the background, and near Alenka's vineyards. Absolutely dreamy! I had no idea that Slovenia was so beautiful. We were literally on the Austrian/Slovenian border where we could jump and say, "we're in Slovenia, we're in Austria". Still pinching myself. Our son, Bobby, wants to move there because all the girls are so beautiful...!

Once we arrived at the venue, it was a giant party. Let me tell you, Slovenians know how to party! Most everyone stayed at the venue that evening because the reception lasted until the wee hours of the morning. The band that arrived at Alenka's home with Joseph played until the last person left the reception. They were absolutely amazing!!! We danced the night away! This is a wedding that the Davis family will never forget, and I'm sure all their guest feel the same way!

Thank you Alenka + Joseph for this incredible opportunity to witness you becoming husband and wife. May life bring you nothing but happiness. We love you both so much! And we are so thankful for kind hospitality your family showed us.

Much love!
